Scotiabank Throws Full Support Behind Little League - Sponsors New Season Each Year by Providing Students With Uniforms
For over 20 years, Scotiabank Cayman has been showing love to its Little League Association. Each year, approximately twenty little league baseball players all between the ages of 5-6 years old are smartly dressed from head to toe in red and white Scotiabank sponsored uniforms as they get ready to kick off their new season.
The Bank’s sponsorship assists the Cayman Islands Little League Association (CILLA) in running the program free of charge for the participating children in Grand Cayman. Speaking about the value of the support received from Scotiabank, CILLA management team says that the sponsorship not only allows the organisers to teach kids the fundamentals of baseball in a fun way, but they also learn early about team play and sportsmanship. Coach McField of CILLA says “The students learn about the give and take of triumph and loss, through honest effort and at their stage this is important. We believe that this positive reinforcement of discipline and respect is needed now more than ever, in these difficult times.”
Scotiabank Country head, Doug Cochrane who is an ardent baseball fan and supporter of Little league said that Scotiabank is very happy to renew its support for CILLA each year. “We believe that baseball is an excellent vehicle for us to use to connect with these children. They get to have fun, improve their motor skills and learn all about being part of a team, and the value that each of them brings to the team.”
