Scotiabank & Trust (Cayman) Ltd. has been operating in the Cayman Islands for over 53 years. The Bank of Nova Scotia, now known as Scotiabank, was originally incorporated in 1965 as the first Trust Company in the Cayman Islands. The bank officially opened its headquarters in George Town in 1966, one of only two commercial banks located in the Cayman Islands at the time.
In 1998 all branches of the Bank of Nova Scotia in the Cayman Islands were locally incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary under the name, Scotiabank (Cayman Islands) Ltd. and in 2003 the Bank and Trust division merged to become Scotiabank & Trust (Cayman) Ltd.
Today, Scotiabank & Trust (Cayman) Ltd. have a staff compliment of 140 employees and operate a network of two full service branches and nine ATMs in the Cayman Islands providing a full range of financial products, solutions and advice to Retail, Small Business, Corporate and Commercial, Captive Insurance, and Wealth customers and clients.
In April 2018, Scotiabank & Trust Cayman Ltd. changed the face of banking in the Cayman Islands, offering some of the newest advancements in digital banking technology with the opening of a new state-of-the-art branch at 18 Forum Lane, Camana Bay. The only digital branch in the Cayman Islands and one of only four digital branches in the Caribbean Region. The unique design of the new branch was created with the customer in mind offering exciting and interactive digital advancements while allowing for enhanced client interactions with the Scotiabank Team.
