Scotiabank Cayman Named Bank Of The Year 2021

December 10, 2021 – Scotiabank Cayman has been named Bank of the Year 2021 by The Banker magazine, a UK-based publication. Recognized as a trusted source of data and analysis for banking excellence, The Banker, via the annual Bank of the Year awards, assesses banks on their ability to deliver results, improve strategic positioning and enhance service to customers. As with the 2020 awards, this year, banks were also judged on their response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This accolade from The Banker magazine shines a positive light on the tremendous efforts of our team to deliver best-in class banking services to our valued customers during these tough times. I want to say a heartfelt thanks on behalf of everyone,” shared Sarah Hobbs, VP & Managing Director, Scotiabank Cayman & Trust Ltd.

This honour also closely follows another title of “Best Consumer Digital Bank 2021” by Global Finance (New York), that was conferred earlier in the year. This award recognized Scotiabank’s investments in data and analytics.

“We have remained laser-focussed on advancing our digital strategy and we are heavily investing in our technology infrastructure, not only to serve customers more efficiently, but also in line with our core purpose of being the Bank for every future,” Hobbs highlighted.

Scotiabank was also awarded Bank of the Year Barbados 2021, Bank of the Year Bahamas 2021, and Bank of the Year Turks and Caicos 2021.

The Banker selects one winning bank for each of the 120 countries judged. Over 1,000 applications are collected each year and judges select winners based on which bank they believe has made the most progress over the past 12 months.
