How to apply

To Apply for a Scotiabank account, you will need to visit your local Scotiabank branch and bring the following items with you:

1. One valid primary piece of government-issued identification, with photograph and signature, such as:

  • Passport
  • National ID or voter's card
  • Driver's license
  • Military ID card
  • Permanent resident card
     

2. Proof of address, such as:

  •  Current utility bill (no more than 3 months old).  Where an applicant is unable to provide a utility bill in their name, the following can be provided:    
    • Letter dated and addressed to the Bank signed by the utility account holder and confirming the following details:
      • Name, address, daytime telephone number and signature of the utility account holder
      • State the applicant’s name
      • Utility account holder to confirm that the applicant resides at the stated address on the utility bill
      • The date the applicant commenced dwelling at the address stated on the utility bill
  • Copy of the utility account holder’s utility bill (no more than 3 months old)
  • Copy of the utility account holder’s current ID.
  • Copy of Lease

 

3. Proof of funding, such as:

  • Passport
  • National ID or voter's card

 

All accounts are subject to review for an on-boarding decision by the Branch Manager and determination on whether additional information is required.
